MAPEI, global leader in the production of adhesives, sealants and chemical products for buildings, has announced that Innovative Building Solutions LLC (IBS-MAPEI), its subsidiary in the UAE, has recently been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, the international standard for quality management systems.

The certification was awarded by Certiquality Italy, which conducted the independent external audit to confirm that IBS-MAPEI has met the requirements and is in compliance with ISO 9001:2008.

MAPEI has further revealed that the newly certified quality management system (QMS) has been drafted specifically with IBS LLC in mind, reassuring clients of the quality of the processes involved from product conceptualization and development to mass production, sales, delivery and technical support.

The certification process was a 24-month project involving all departments and all staff of IBS MAPEI, which conducted a detailed mapping of the internal processes and the implementation of procedures, work instructions and flow charts to ensure consistency in many common and repetitive activities. MAPEI also conducted quality training on the procedures and processes, which were then verified and audited by internal and external auditors.

MAPEI offers a comprehensive range of adhesives and sealants for installing ceramic, natural stone and other finishes such as wooden, PVC and sports flooring. The company has been involved in some of the most challenging construction projects in the UAE, including the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa, Emirates Palace Hotel, the Grand Mosque, Qasr El Sarab resort, Atlantis Hotel on Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Ferrari World and Dubai International Airport’s Terminals 1, 2 and 3. MAPEI recently relocated its offices to Dubai Investment Park (DIP), where the company already has a 40,000 m2 manufacturing facility.
